Le Colonial

3/14/07

Pitstop #2 was to a San Francisco favorite for the past decade of so: Le Colonial. At the site that used to be Trader Vic's (I believe this location ended up moving to
Palo Alto, but I digress)

Le Colonial evokes "
evokes the ambiance of French colonial Vietnam in a lush, romantic setting" according to their site and I'd have to agree. It is the kind of place where you can get a little bit lost in the environment and even forget that you are in a big city.

The food is primarily Vietnamese some dishes have a nice French twist to them.

I would be lying if I said I remembered everything we ordered at this point, but the appetizer sampler plate is fantastic.

Overall, slightly expensive for what you get, but a fun experience, I'd definitely go back,

Why didn't I talk about Ame earlier?

I totally blew this and put off posting until almost two months later... Not exactly the smartest move I've ever made, I've practically forgotten the food (except for the cod, how could I forget that, it was sheer absolute deliciousness). I'm hoping to do a write up tonight (so that I can have it up before our next PITStop).

Until then, I've posted some photos on flickr and finally installed the new flickr badge.

oh and next outing is tomorrow night at the le colonial. We may even have a special guest PITStopper. and I promise, this time I'll post about it soon after the event. not months after...
